Bedrooms:

All our rooms are single (no roomates) which makes life easier since we're not undergrads anymore. Our unique house has 13 rooms of many different sizes and some even have their own attached private bathroom. The rooms are spacious and include a desk, single bed, wardrobe (or closet), and dresser. Many students also bring their own furniture to use. The rent is currently set at $395 for larger rooms (which originally housed 2 people) and $350 for the smaller rooms, but there may be a $5-$15 increase for next year. This price includes all utilities: gas, water, electricity, and cable.

Common Rooms:

The Kitchen- for the budding chef we have 6 burners, 2 ovens, a skillet, and any appliance you can think of, including a panini press and several crock pots. For the tv dinner junkie we also have plenty of microwaves and a pizza cooker. We provide pots, pans, plates, silverware, and cups. Everyone gets their own shelves in one of the several fridges, freezers, and cupboards.

Living Room- Our living room has lots of means of distraction.... I mean a quick study break...

- 52 inch HDTV
- Digital cable with HBO, on demand and DVR, becuase watching recorded episodes of Scrubs really does help you study
- VCR and DVD players
- Wii, complete with Guitar Hero III and other games (for exercise during finals)
- The most comfortable couches on campus (trust us, they are)
- A romantic brick fireplace to cozy up on cold January nights
- Foosball table and dart board

We usually have people over for Grey's Anatomy or movie nights. Plus nothing beats watching sports on a Saturday afternoon.

Library- We have our own library complete with books for most of the classes you will take (save some $$$) and some books just for fun.

Look at all our trophies!

Laundry Room- Washer and dryer are located in the basement, and best of all they're free!

Nu Sigma Nu is located on the east bank of the UMN campus along the scenic East River Parkway, only Three blocks from the medical school. For anyone unfamiliar with the area near the University, it's entirely possible to get to class only fifteen minutes after waking up, and still have time for breakfast! If you really push it, you can go from bed to lecture in ten minutes. This also makes it possible to come home during lunch or the long breaks they give you in the middle of the day.

East River Parkway follows the Mississippi River with bike and walking/running paths that are a part of the Grand Rounds National Scenic Byway to total 50.1 miles of beautiful views. If exercise isn't your style (after nutrition it will be) we have Stadium Village three blocks away with bars, restaurants and great coffee shops, all perfect for taking a study break. The golden arches of the Ronald McDonald house, only two houses away, help ensure the safely of the neighborhood.

We are VERY close to our neighbors!

Pretty views from our rooftop patio.

Look how close Nu Sig is to school!

People- We are unbiasedly the best Frat on campus... more of a family than a true frat. The house is made up of first and second years with the occasional third or fourth year stopping by to sleep on the couch. We are very relaxed and easy going (don't look for gunners here). We are all focused on school, but have an outside life too, when possible. We have marathon runners, amateur chefs, rock star wannabes, and dancing machines that all peacefully co-exist.

One of the biggest advantages as a first year is to have the second years around for advice (we'll give it even if you didn't ask). Medical school is fast paced and a lot of people can get overwhelmed, but with second years around you will know how hard that anatomy test is or which lectures you should skip and watch online (hint: all 8AM ones). Second years have advice on everything and you can always look to them to see what next year will be like (a lot harder). Another big advantage is to live with other first years. Professors don't always explain everthing well and so having someone right down the hall is essential. Also, then can help you figure out what's going on that week or tell you when a paper is due (genetics profs tend to assign projects without telling you).

Events- We are the hosts to the annual Greek Olymipcs, a sports and drinking competition between all three medical frats. We also host the afterparty, with more drinking and overall tomfoolery. Then there is our holiday party, which is a little more low-key, with friends, ugly sweaters and drinks. Finally, in the spring we host a party after the second years' talent show for both students and faculty. It's a good chance to meet the profs in a less formal atmosphere. Dean Vercelotti is even known to attend!

Then about once a month the housemates and friends get together for a house social event including pumpking carving, movie nights, or drunken haiku.

Food- We believe in independence, so your meals are entirely up to you. However, on Sundays we offer a dinner that was cooked by two of your housemates for your enjoyment. The money comes from social funds (unless people get extravagent) and the leftovers are open for all to enjoy the rest of the week. Each person only ends up cooking twice a semester, and there is no pressure to be a master chef.

Parking at the U is a nightmare... luckily at Nu Sig we provide parking to all members (even 1st years) either in our parking lot behind the house ($?? per month), or permit street parking ($25 per year). We typically reserve a few spots in our lot for third and fourth year former Nu Sigs who are on rotations at the U. You even get to experience the perks of being a part of Nu Sig when you aren't living here anymore! PARKING IS ONE OF THE BIGGEST MONEY DRAINS ON CAMPUS AND NU SIG PERMITS ARE HOT COMMODITIES!!!

We take applicants on a first come first serve basis because the last thing you want is to stress out until June about where you are going to live. In years past, this method has attracted the best and brightest students to Nu Sig. In case you are worried, we do screen for crazies, but will never ask you to "draw a picture that captures your true essence"... we just want to make sure we have a great house of people who like having fun and respect each other.

Contact us at nusigmanu.epsilon@gmail.com to come look at the house and get the process started!
